About GMAT
The GMAT is a computer adaptive, business school entrance test that is designed to test skills that are most fitting for business school aspirants.
GMAT is used to assess skills such as analytical writing, problem solving skills, critical reasoning skills, logic and data sufficiency that are relevant to business programs.
GMAT is administered by GMAC (Graduate Management Admission Council) and is used by over 2000 universities in over 100 countries and is tested over 600 centers world over.

How to register for the GMAT exam?
It is advisable to register for the GMAT exam at least two months before the date on which you wish to take the exam. You can follow the given steps to book a GMAT exam slot.
- Visit the official website of GMAT.
- Choose the test centre.
- Enter your preferred country.
- Choose up to three centres.
- Select your preferred test date.

- The Verbal Reasoning section assesses the test taker’s ability to read, comprehend written passages, and evaluate arguments.
- In the Verbal Reasoning section, test takers have 45 minutes to answer 23 questions.“ The questions within this section are primarily of two types: Critical Reasoning and Reading Comprehension.

- The Quant section of the GMAT Focus Edition evaluates your understanding of algebra and arithmetic fundamentals and your ability to apply this knowledge in problem-solving scenarios.
- There are two major updates in the Quant Section in GMAT Focus Edition:
1. Geometry questions have been eliminated from the Quant section.
2. Data Sufficiency questions have been removed from the Quant Section and now will be asked in the Data Insights section. - In the Quantitative Reasoning section, test takers have 45 minutes to answer 21 Problem-solving questions”.
- The Quant section of the GMAT Focus Edition evaluates your understanding of algebra and arithmetic fundamentals and your ability to apply this knowledge in problem-solving scenarios.
GMAT FAQs
The GMAT test measures your critical reasoning and thinking skills, which are the two most relevant skills that matter most in the business. With four sections in the GMAT, it is an assessment of Analytical Writing, Integrated Reasoning, Quantitative Reasoning, and Verbal Reasoning.
The total GMAT test time will be about 3 and a half hours, including two optional breaks. The Analytical Writing Assessment lasts for 30 minutes with one question, the Integrated Reasoning lasts for 30 minutes with 12 questions, the Quantitative Reasoning lasts for 62 minutes with 31 questions, and the Verbal Reasoning lasts for 65 minutes with 36 questions.
It is absolutely possible to retake the GMAT exam up to 5 times in a calendar year and up to 8 times in a lifetime. However, it is important that you wait for 16 days before retaking the GMAT exam.
Upon the completion of your GMAT exam, you will be shown an unofficial GMAT score reports- Verbal, Quantitative, Integrated Reasoning, and Total. The Analytical Writing Assessment scores will not be included on the test day; however, will be included on the official score report delivered within 20 days. You will have a time of two minutes to decide whether to accept or cancel your scores. If you choose to cancel your scores, you will not receive a hard copy of your unofficial scores at the test center; you will not be able to access your official score report, and your scores will not be sent to any of the schools you listed.
The preparation time for your GMAT exam will entirely depend on you; however, it is reported that successful business school candidates start preparing at least 3-6 months before taking the real test.
You should bring your valid, government-issued identification that clearly states your name as you provided when you made your test appointment.
